Jason Cammisa explores the legacy of the Cizeta V16T supercar.

Hagerty just dropped a cool new video about "the first hypercar" - the amazing Cizeta V16T. Its wild history and groundbreaking engineering still captivate car fans everywhere.

The video dives into how this Italian beauty, crafted by former Lamborghini engineers and styled by the famous Marcello Gandini, pushed the limits of car design and performance back in the early '90s. At its core is the unique 6.0-liter V16 engine - a powerhouse with 64 valves and twin crankshafts that revs up to a crazy 8000 rpm.

Hagerty's video clears up some myths about where the engine came from and explores the business relationship between engineer Claudio Zampolli and Grammy-winning producer Giorgio Moroder. Their partnership led to the creation of the only "Cizeta-Moroder" branded prototype before they went their separate ways.

With just ten of these cars ever made, the Cizeta V16T is one of the rarest supercars around. The video also touches on the controversies involving Zampolli, including his legal troubles, adding another twist to this incredible car story.
